Akpa Kimya A.Ş. Ranks Second in Organic Chemicals Exports

Akpa Kimya A.Ş. Wins Second Place in Organic Chemicals Category at İKMİB's Stars of Exports Awards At the 2016 Stars of Exports Awards ceremony organized by İKMİB to honor and encourage its member companies for their achievements, Akpa Kimya A.Ş. was named the second-largest exporter in the organic chemicals category. With exports of USD 14 billion, the chemistry sector is one of Turkey's three largest export sectors, and Akpa Kimya A.Ş. stands among its leading companies. The company is 100% domestically capitalized. As Akpa Kimya A.Ş. Board Chairman Kemal Darcan accepted the award, marking the company's 20th anniversary, he expressed the pride felt on behalf of the country for this achievement: "Twenty years ago, we set out on our path with our own engineering team and technology. To date, through our innovative vision and pioneering R&D investments in the sector, we have increased our competitiveness both domestically and internationally. The R&D Center designation we received with the certification of the Ministry of Science and Industry is another source of pride for us. In addition to our domestic sales, we conduct active exports to nearly 60 countries across 6 continents, particularly to Middle Eastern and European countries. The most important aspect we emphasize in all of these efforts is understanding customer needs closely and providing customer-specific solutions."
