Ali Çalışkan Takes Over as CEO of Kordsa

Cenk Alper, CEO of Kordsa, a Sabancı Holding affiliate, since 2013, was appointed as Head of Sabancı Holding Industrial Group effective 1 April 2017. Ali Çalışkan, who has served as Deputy General Manager responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Kordsa since July 2015, was promoted to the CEO position. Following Cenk Alper's appointment as Head of the Industrial Group effective 8 March 2017, during which he served as Kordsa CEO since June 2013, Ali Çalışkan, who has worked at Kordsa for 31 years and served as Deputy General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa since July 2015, was appointed as Kordsa's CEO. Çalışkan, who graduated from Middle East Technical University's Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1983, began his first position at Soyut Mühendislik in 1984 and joined Kordsa in 1986 as a Technical Bureau Engineer, subsequently taking on key roles and positions within Kordsa in the implementation of major projects. During his tenure as Operations Director at Kordsa's Indonesian subsidiary Indokordsa between 2010 and 2013, and as Vice President of Operations between 2013 and 2015, he played an active role in expanding Kordsa's capacity and market share in the strategically important Asia-Pacific region, where the tire market was experiencing growth. In his role as Deputy General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa since July 2015, he has played an active role in increasing market share of Kordsa's Turkish factory, which serves as the company's production and R&D hub, and in R&D leadership.
