Petrol Ofisi Group Opens Renovated Facility in Derince, Kocaeli, Featuring Petrol Ofisi Mineral Oil Technology Center (POTEM) Speaking at the opening ceremony, Petrol Ofisi Group Chief Executive Officer Mehmet Abbasoğlu said that this integrated major center, whose capacity they have doubled, is a technology hub that exports to 4 continents, carries Turkish engineering to the world, and plays an important role in the country's energy independence strategy. Abbasoğlu noted that the facility obtains 30 percent of its total electricity needs from solar energy, adding: "This major facility contains a large diesel tank park that we believe will cover four days of our station sales in the city in the event of a potential Istanbul earthquake and will play an important role in reducing diesel imports. Our center, built entirely on a fully digital ecosystem, is making its mark on internationally referenced work with POTEM, the most comprehensive and innovative mineral oil technology hub in the near region. As Petrol Ofisi Group, we will continue to increase our investments toward sustainable growth of our economy in the Republic's New Century." he said. Petrol Ofisi Group Mineral Oils Director Sezgin Gürsu noted that they are producing and putting into use with the latest technology a product portfolio that can meet every type of mineral oil and grease requirement of Turkey's heavy industrial facilities, major infrastructure construction projects, local administrations and public institutions, transporters and farmers. Pointing out that the center, with its 8,000-ton product storage capacity managed digitally, will reduce carbon emissions caused by forklifts in traditional logistics operations by 60 percent, Gürsu said: "Built with the largest enclosed area not only in Turkey but in the near region, this investment of ours is an indicator of our confidence in our country's potential and growth. As Petrol Ofisi, we will continue our investments in this direction and work with all our might to contribute to our country's future."

Deputy Head of the Presidential Investment Office Zeynel Kılınç noted that they have observed approximately 500,000 tons of domestic consumption in mineral oils in Turkey in 2022.

Emphasizing that they are observing increasing exports and branded production services carried out abroad, Kılınç continued his remarks as follows:

"Today, our mineral oil production, starting from base oils and including additives, can now be carried out with domestic capabilities. I must say that companies like Petrol Ofisi Group, which both produce and develop technology, have a major share in this success. We know that this facility, whose opening we are conducting today, will make an important contribution in favor of our country in the import-export balance with its high capacity and advanced production technology. As the Presidential Investment Office, we have always supported high value-added, advanced technology productions like this facility of ours, and we will continue to support them going forward. We will continue to provide support in new investments." After the ribbon cutting, participants toured the new logistics center and the technology center POTEM within the facility as well as the large T34 diesel tank, receiving information from Petrol Ofisi Group's senior management.
