Sabri Ülker Calls on Young Scientists

The Sabri Ülker Foundation, which implements many sustainable important projects with the goal of contributing to the future of public health and providing reliable, accurate and up-to-date information from credible sources to all segments of society on nutrition, food and healthy living, continues its uninterrupted support to young scientists. Since 2014, the Foundation has been organizing the "Sabri Ülker Science Award" competition with the aim of encouraging young scientists in industry and research institutes and supporting the presentation of research for the benefit of society. Applications for the "Sabri Ülker Science Award" competition, with the theme "Nutrition, Metabolism and Public Health", will continue until 31 March 2019. The "Sabri Ülker Science Award" competition, which is open to international applications and has a maximum age limit of 45, accepts applications only in English with completed original projects. The winning scientific project will be awarded TRY 100,000. This year's jury includes, alongside international scientists, names of previous Science Award winners. The winner of the Sabri Ülker Science Award will be announced on 2 May. In previous years, the Sabri Ülker Science Award was given to Assistant Professor Ömer Yılmaz, a faculty member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Cancer Research Institute, for his research titled "The Relationship Between Intestinal Stem Cells and Metabolism and Nutrition", to Assistant Professor Ebru Erbay from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilkent University for her project "Bioactive Lipids for Health", and to Assistant Professor Kıvanç Birsoy from Rockefeller University for his project that shed light on the discovery of new, sustainable and economical treatment methods in the fight against cancer through the "DNA-Barcoding Technology" method.
