5th Istanbul Carbon Summit to Bring Together Stakeholders for Climate Finance

Greenhouse Gas Laggards, Low Carbon Heroes to be Honoured

At the V. Istanbul Carbon Summit to be held on 26 April 2018 under the auspices of Istanbul Technical University by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), government, civil society, business, academia and youth will gather at the leading platform on the subject with "Climate Finance" as the focal theme. At the summit, following the Paris Climate Agreement and the One Planet Summit, climate and carbon finance, climate change mitigation mechanisms, climate change support and financing programmes, green climate fund, green bonds, carbon trading, mandatory and voluntary carbon markets will be presented to delegates by expert speakers, while industrial carbon management successes and best practices in combating climate change will be presented by senior executives of our leading companies in different sectors during the "Carbon Management and Industry" session. Thus, the current outlook and possibilities for adaptation process with greenhouse gas reduction in the areas of energy production and energy access, forests and land use, transport, buildings, cities, industry and applications in our country, and gaining resilience to climate change will be discussed. At the summit, greenhouse gas laggards and carbon reduction institutional and personal achievements will be honoured with the presentation of the "Low Carbon Hero Award". The IV. Istanbul Carbon Summit Final Report and Presentation E-Book are available on the SÜT-D website. "Small Carbon Heroes" will be the major surprise of the summit.
