Kordsa's 2050 Net Zero Emissions Targets Approved by SBTi

Kordsa's long-term 2050 net zero targets aligned with the 1.5°C scenario have been approved following the completion of verification work conducted by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, continues to advance responsible living through its demonstrated sustainability performance. Prioritizing emissions management in the fight against climate change and advancing steadily toward its 2030 targets, Kordsa has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative, one of the world's most respected international standards, for its 2050 net zero targets.

LEADING STEPS IN SUSTAINABILITY WITH NET ZERO EMISSION TARGET 

Kordsa, whose long-term 2050 targets on its net zero journey have also been approved by SBTi, will implement sustainability initiatives that consider its entire value chain. As a result of the work to be carried out in this direction, Kordsa will achieve a 90% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions as well as specified categories within Scope 3 emissions by 2050 compared to baseline years.

Kordsa continues to implement measures to achieve its 2030 interim targets approved by SBTi last year, with a 46.2% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from the 2019 baseline year to 2030, and a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions for specified categories from the 2021 baseline year. The company has committed to ensuring that its suppliers align with science-based targets by 2027 under the SBTi's near-term 2030 Scope 3 targets framework.
