Green tires protect both nature and budgets

Due to environmental pollution and the effects of global climate change, eco-friendly tyres are gaining increasing importance in the automotive industry. Petlas, which implements environmentally friendly production, offers fuel savings of up to 5% with its ProGreen PT525 tyres while reducing carbon emissions.
Vehicle tyres, which ensure driving safety and comfort, cause considerable environmental damage along with the fuel they consume. In recent times, drivers turning to eco-friendly tyres prefer long-lasting tyres that provide lower fuel consumption and generate less CO2 emissions. Continuing to take important steps to leave a more livable world for future generations, Petlas produces ProGreen PT525 tyres using new-generation rubbers and special filler materials through specific mixing processes, achieving fuel efficiency and reducing fossil fuel consumption.
Petlas Marketing Director Esra Ertuğrul Boran, noting that in today's world where sustainability has become a priority in every area of life, tyre selection is also part of this, said: "Sustainability is a priority we focus on in Petlas production processes. We are making steady progress towards our target of reducing our carbon emissions by 58% by 2030. In 2023, we reduced our carbon footprint by 14% compared to 2022, and with our solar energy project completed in 2023, we reached the position of the brand with the most solar energy panels under a single roof in the world. Within this scope, our work continues to reduce our carbon footprint in our production processes and to create a similar impact in the final product. The impact of the tyre selected for a car on fuel consumption is at almost 10-20%. The value of the tyre's rolling resistance visibly affects the vehicle's fuel consumption. For this reason, for fuel efficiency in tyres, the tyre's rolling resistance must be at a low level. If the friction the vehicle has while in motion has a high value, the vehicle's fuel consumption per kilometre will be higher. For this reason, tyres with low friction provide better tyre fuel efficiency. With optimized tread design and superior technology components, ProGreen PT525 provides up to 5% fuel savings compared to a standardly manufactured tyre while reducing carbon footprint. Its low rolling resistance, exceptional low wear performance and road grip levels also bring with them the advantage of extended service life."
