PPG Excimer UV Coatings Receive 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award

PPG's excimer UV matte coatings have won the 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the Coatings Industry category.

PPG has announced that PPG excimer ultraviolet (UV) matte-finish coatings for consumer electronics have been recognized with the 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the Coatings Industry category. The annual awards, which recognize products and technologies that advance the coatings industry through innovation and practical application, were presented during the recent China Coatings & Ink Summit & Expo in Shanghai. 

Excimer coatings are cured using specialized excimer (excited dimer) UV light that forms an ultra-matte, soft, skin-like texture. PPG excimer UV coatings are available in both waterborne or solventborne formulations and are engineered for both metal and plastic devices including notebook computers, keyboards, mobile phones, wearable devices and smart home products. They cure significantly faster than conventional technologies, providing manufacturers with flexibility to meet a range of different production and application requirements.
