Hayat Kimya to Build $50 Million Detergent Plant in Mersin

Hayat Kimya has commissioned a new detergent production facility in Mersin, built with an investment exceeding USD 50 million. The facility will produce for both the domestic market and export.

Hayat Kimya, a global player in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, has added another investment to its operations in Turkey. The detergent plant that the company began constructing in Mersin in 2025 commenced operations in the first quarter of 2026.

Hayat Kimya's new investment, operating under strong brands such as Bingo, Molfix, Molped, Familia and Papia, draws attention with its scale of over USD 50 million. Located within a campus area of approximately 235,000 square meters in Mersin, the facility has a production area of 23,000 square meters.

Production capacity increased
With the new facility, which has an annual production capacity of 230,000 tonnes, Hayat Kimya's total detergent production capacity in Turkey has reached 1.2 million tonnes. The new plant will also provide employment for approximately 300 people.

Hayat Kimya carries out detergent production across 4 different locations in 3 countries, with facilities in Kocaeli and Mersin in Turkey, as well as in Algeria and Iran.

Sustainable production at the forefront
The new facility delivers high efficiency in production and quality processes through digital automation and artificial intelligence-supported systems. Located in a strategically advantageous logistics position, the facility reduces carbon emissions thanks to its proximity to ports.

Additionally, solar panels with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts installed on the roof supply approximately 15% of energy requirements from renewable sources. A cogeneration system on campus enables heat recovery, further improving energy efficiency.
