"Taste and Art: Delicious Paintings" Exhibition Heads to Ankara

The exhibition "Taste and Art: Delicious Pictures" is bidding farewell to Istanbul and will open to art enthusiasts at İş Sanat Ankara Art Gallery starting 16 September.

The temporary exhibition "Taste and Art: Delicious Pictures" at Turkey İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum, inspired by fertile lands, the bounty of the seas, nature's generosity and shared tables, completed its Istanbul run as of 20 August. Curated by Prof. Dr. Gül İrepoğlu, the exhibition featured over 200 artworks by 90 artists. Visitors saw works by important figures in Turkish art including Osman Hamdi Bey, Şeker Ahmed Paşa, Selahattin Teoman, Cevat Dereli, Nazlı Ecevit, Eren Eyüboğlu, Hikmet Onat, Hasan Vecih Bereketoğlu and Mehmed Muazzez.

The exhibition, which attracted 70,000 visitors in Istanbul and generated considerable interest with thematic conferences and art workshops for children, will open to visitors starting 16 September at İş Sanat Ankara Art Gallery, located within the Museum of Economic Independence in Ulus, with a curated selection of works.

"We Prioritize Bringing Our Activities to Anatolia"
Expressing satisfaction with the interest the exhibition "Taste and Art: Delicious Pictures" received in Istanbul and noting that the exhibition's journey will continue in Ankara, İş Sanat General Director Zuhal Üreten emphasized the importance they place on expanding İş Sanat activities beyond Istanbul:

"We open our temporary exhibitions completed in Istanbul to visitors in various cities, particularly Ankara. This September, as 'Taste and Art' moves to Ankara, the 'Istanbul Portraits' exhibition is traveling to Antalya. Additionally, through 'Art for Everyone: Anatolian Exhibitions,' which we have created as part of Turkey İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum's learning programs, we are opening special selections from the Turkey İş Bankası Art Collection to visitors throughout Anatolia. The interest these selections receive, which we have prepared with enthusiasm and care, makes us very happy."

Üreten noted that certain renovations will be made to Turkey İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum's permanent exhibition and announced the forthcoming new temporary exhibition: "Preparations for our museum's new exhibition titled 'Side by Side' are proceeding rapidly. At our exhibition opening on 20 September, we are bringing together works by two important couples from the art world, Eren and Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu and Melahat and Eşref Üren, which are held in the Turkey İş Bankası Art Collection, along with works in private collections."
