Polisan Holding Named ‘SÜT-D Low Carbon Champion’

Polisan Holding received the Low Carbon Champion Award from the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜPD) at the Istanbul Carbon Summit, held for the 10th time this year. Polisan Holding, which continues steadily with efficiency projects aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, prevented 8,436 tons of carbon emissions in 2024.

At the Istanbul Carbon Summit, held for the 10th time this year by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜPD) with main support from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Polisan Holding was among the companies awarded for their achievements in carbon management.

Polisan Holding CEO Cantekin Dinçerler, noting that they continue to implement their sustainability strategies in line with high environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance goals, stated: "In 2024, we implemented numerous projects that increased productivity and provided energy savings. We supported these efforts with our digitalization and automation investments. Through new practices we launched in logistics, we also achieved additional savings. In 2024, we increased the share of our electricity needs covered by renewable energy sources to 80 percent.

Additionally, we achieved 435,000 kWh of energy savings this year and a total of 5.1 million kWh over the past three years, and through these efforts alone we prevented approximately 22,000 tons of carbon emissions. We continue to reduce our carbon emissions steadily year after year," he said.

Polisan Holding Sustainability Manager Dilek Sarıaslan emphasized that 8,436 tons of carbon emissions were prevented in 2024 through implemented efficiency projects, renewable energy use and logistics applications, stating: "We are pleased to have achieved performance exceeding our carbon reduction targets included in our five-year strategies. To strengthen our sustainability governance, we are linking all our activities with SDGs and integrating our targets into our business processes. While continuing our preparations for science-based targets, we are also strengthening Polisan Holding's ESG score with our new investments."

Calculating its emissions in accordance with the ISO 14064 standard and the GHG Protocol for approximately 13 years, Polisan Holding has expanded the scope over the past 4 years to include all of its emissions in these calculations. Through climate reporting in line with ISSB standards, transparently tracking the financial impacts of the transition to a low-carbon economy, and in line with its long-term goals, Polisan Holding aligns with Turkey's 2053 Net Zero target and continues its work with its net zero emissions target set for 2053.
