Zatriq Wind Power Plant, Worth EUR 106 Million, Starts First Electricity Generation

Çalık Renewables has commissioned the first turbines at its Zatriq Wind Power Plant Project in Kosovo, a 73 MW facility realized with an investment of EUR 106 million. Electricity generation has begun at the plant, with the project targeted to reach full capacity in the third quarter of 2026.

Çalık Renewables has brought the first turbines online at the Zatriq Wind Power Plant Project in Kosovo, a EUR 106 million investment with 73 MW installed capacity. Electricity generation has begun at the facility, which is targeted to reach full capacity operation in the third quarter of 2026.

The first electricity generation has been achieved at the wind energy project developed by Çalık Renewables in the Zatriq Region of Kosovo. The Zatriq Wind Power Plant, comprising 12 wind turbines with 73 MW installed capacity, is being brought online gradually, with the project planned to commence full-capacity operations in the third quarter of 2026.

Zatriq RES to strengthen Kosovo's renewable energy capacity
The Zatriq RES, realised with a total investment of EUR 106 million, will contribute to Kosovo's diversification of energy sources and increased renewable energy generation capacity.

The project, which aims to harness the country's wind energy potential, will contribute to both clean energy transition and strengthening energy supply security.

When the plant reaches full capacity, it is projected to generate approximately 183,395 MWh of electricity annually. The project is targeted to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 40,000 households and help prevent approximately 189,264 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

"We are moving forward with strong steps towards reaching full capacity"
Emre Erdoğan, Chief Executive Officer of Çalık Renewables, stated that the first electricity generation at Zatriq RES represents an important milestone both for the company's international growth journey and for Kosovo's energy transition.

Erdoğan said, "By transferring our experience and expertise in renewable energy to international markets, we are making long-term contributions to countries' low-carbon future. With the commencement of electricity generation at the Zatriq RES project we are implementing in Kosovo, we have successfully passed a critical threshold in our project."

Noting that when the project reaches full capacity it will contribute to the annual electricity needs of approximately 40,000 households, Erdoğan stated that the investment will strengthen Kosovo's energy supply security and reinforce Çalık Renewables' renewable energy presence in the region.

Erdoğan expressed gratitude to employees, business partners and stakeholders who contributed to the project's realisation.

Çalık Renewables expanding renewable energy investments in Europe
Çalık Renewables continues its investments in promoting sustainable energy generation through renewable energy projects developed across different geographies.

The company operates by transferring its expertise in project development, engineering and operations to international markets, aiming to contribute to the energy transition of the countries in which it operates. Operating the wind, hydroelectric and solar power plants in Turkey, the company is focusing on growth opportunities particularly in the Balkans and Europe in addition to Turkey.

Çalık Renewables also aims to transfer its knowledge base in the renewable energy field to next-generation energy technologies such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
