Baymak Stands Out in Sustainability with TÜV SÜD-Approved Zero Waste Certificate

Following approximately a year of work, Baymak successfully passed the TÜV SÜD audit and earned the ‘Zero Waste Certificate’ (bronze level) under the DIN SPEC 91436 standard. With this certificate, Baymak became one of the first companies in the sector to receive it, and the second company in Turkey overall.

After approximately one year of work, Baymak successfully passed TÜV SÜD inspection and earned the 'Zero Waste Certificate' (bronze level) under the DIN SPEC 91436 standard. With this certificate, Baymak became one of the first companies in its sector to receive this certification, while standing out as the second company nationwide in Turkey.

In line with its sustainability strategy, Baymak focused on waste reduction, reuse and recovery, and strengthened its environmental performance by establishing a fully traceable waste management system. Comprehensive work spanning approximately one year enabled effective management and valorization of all waste generated from the facilities.

Baymak's approach focuses not only on waste recovery but also on prevention of waste generation at its source. This holistic system, extending from the supply chain to final disposal, is supported by sustainability awareness encompassing all stakeholders.

The company also took significant steps in production and operation processes, reducing packaging waste by switching from cardboard boxes to collapsible plastic boxes, while completely eliminating the use of PET bottles and cardboard cups in production and administrative processes. Non-recyclable household waste was valorized for energy generation, minimizing environmental impacts.

Baymak CEO Ülkü Özcan stated that the success achieved is a result of the company's environmental responsibility approach, saying, "We carefully manage all waste generated from our facilities and prioritize preventing and reducing waste generation. We create an awareness culture encompassing our employees and business partners across all processes from supply chain to final disposal. Being among the first companies in the sector to receive this certificate and standing among pioneers in Turkey is an important source of motivation for us."

With the 'Zero Waste Certificate', Baymak is taking its sustainability journey further while continuing to set an example for the sector through its environmental responsibility approach.
