Technology-Focused Industrial Move Webinar for the Chemical Sector

The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology published a "Notification of Changes to the Priority Product List" in the Official Gazette No. 31408 dated 27 February 2021 under the Technology-Focused Industry Initiative Program concerning products related to chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and dentistry. It is noted that following extensive efforts by the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), most of the products listed in the Turkish Chemical Sector Investment Priority Products Report—which is expected to curb imports in the sector and contribute to reducing the current account deficit—appear on the announced list. Prioritizing investments in the chemical sector that will reduce imports within the scope of the "Technology-Focused Industry Initiative Program," supporting domestic and national production, transitioning to high-value-added product manufacturing, and increasing incentives are of great importance as they will contribute to the sector's future and closing the current account deficit. The "Technology-Focused Industry Initiative in the Chemical Sector" webinar, which will take place with the participation of İKMİB Board of Directors Chairman Adil Pelister, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology Program Management Department Head Hakan Erten and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology Strategic Research and Productivity General Director Prof. Dr. İlker Murat Ar, will cover products in the chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and dentistry sectors, and detailed information will be provided regarding the support to be granted in the investment of these products.
