Oğuz Akandil Appointed New General Manager of Amgen Türkiye

Oğuz Akandil has become the new General Manager of Amgen Turkey. With over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, he replaces Güldem Berkman, who has served as General Manager of Amgen Turkey since 2017 and has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of Amgen's China operations. Oğuz Akandil assumed his new position as of 2 September.

Oğuz Akandil has become the new General Manager of biotechnology company Amgen Turkey. Güldem Berkman, who has held the General Manager position at the company since 2017, has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of Amgen's China operations. Oğuz Akandil completed his undergraduate studies at Boğaziçi University in the Business Administration Department. Akandil holds an MBA from the same university and began his career in the pharmaceutical sector in 1999.

Over 25 years of experience in the sector
Oğuz Akandil held various positions in finance, sales, marketing and business development during his 18 years at Pfizer, where he also took on significant responsibilities in operations outside Turkey. After serving as General Manager of Ukraine, he took on the role of Director of Business Development and Reimbursement in Russia. Joining Amgen in 2017, Akandil served as Strategic Planning Director for Amgen Turkey, Middle East and Africa. He subsequently held positions as Commercial Director at Gensenta and Sales and Marketing Director at Amgen Turkey. Appointed General Manager of Nobel Pharma Turkey in 2021, Akandil successfully managed the company's growth and transformation strategies in R&D, manufacturing and business performance. With over 25 years of global and local experience in the sector, Oğuz Akandil will lead Amgen's Turkey organization with his strong background and patient-focused vision.
