Alex Kompozit's New Developments and Production Approach

In an interview with Şenol Özkısa, Composites Product Manager at Alex Kompozit, we discussed the company's production approach and recent projects. Could you briefly tell our readers about yourself, your education and your professional background in the sector?

I was born in Kırklareli in 1991. I graduated from Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School in 2009 and from Sakarya University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017. In 2018, I founded Tetraktis Kompozit to manufacture carbon fiber fasteners and components. In 2020, I began working at Alex Kompozit to conduct various R&D activities.

Could you describe Alex Kompozit's development process from its founding to today?

Alex Kompozit is essentially a continuation of Tekno Kalıp, which was founded in 2007. Tekno Kalıp was established in 2007 to produce composite molds. Beyond the molds it produced, Alex Kompozit was founded to serve different products and sectors. In this company, we serve different sectors in the best possible way. With our innovative approach, we continuously develop and serve all sectors, primarily defense industry and automotive industry.

What are Alex Kompozit's products and product groups? Which sectors do you serve?

As our main product group, we are known for composite sinks and composite urns. Beyond these two products, we also produce using BMC, SMC, pultrusion and hand lay-up methods on a product basis. Alex Kitchen Products Technology, a sub-brand of Alex Brandy New, which has a long history in its sector and continues its activities without slowing down through specialization in its field, has made the concept of "Local Production" a part of its "Values" policy and, based on this mission, established a production facility in Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ.

Could you tell us about your sales activities? Which regions are your main sales focus?

Our sales activities are based in principle on regional dealerships. We supply both the domestic market and many countries in export. Alex Kitchen, producing entirely with domestic resources, has written a success story from the local market to the global market while making the concept of "Local Production" an important part of its corporate policy, thereby setting an example for other sector stakeholders.

In your view, what are the conditions for being a global manufacturer?

We constantly try to move ourselves one step further with a focus on development, change and innovation. In doing so, we never compromise on reliability and quality. We have adopted the belief that this should be the most fundamental element in both commerce and human life. Viewing it from a global perspective, we believe the most correct approach is based on these principles and we continue our activities in this direction. Alex Kitchen, which possesses corporate values worthy of being in every corner of every kitchen in different parts of the world, has made the concept of "Original Design" an important part of its "Values" policy and, based on this mission, has adopted the principle of "originality" in production. Operating in this direction and making production with its distinctive style an indispensable rule, Alex Kitchen has written a success story from the local market to the global market while making the concept of Original Design an important part of its corporate policy, thereby setting an example for all stakeholders in the sector.

Have you recently developed an innovative production in the composites field that will make a difference?

Our composite sink and composite urn products are among the first in their respective fields and we continue with a constant innovation approach in line with our customers' valuable requests in the market. Through the carbon fiber fastener project to be carried out jointly with Tetraktis Kompozit, we have launched a domestic and national project for fasteners, which are among the most important materials in the aviation sector. In addition to its lightness, composite materials stand out for their strength compared to metals, and with composite materials being used in all sectors, this product will eliminate the disadvantages of metals in composite material connections. We are also conducting various R&D projects in the sector through carbon fiber drone propeller production for our developing country's aviation industry.

Digital transformation is essential in our age. As Alex Kompozit, are you conducting activities in this direction?

We attach importance to digitalization in all our work within the company and with our customers. In fact, due to the circumstances we find ourselves in, we even participate in trade fairs in virtual environments.

Since our life resources are now endangered, environmental measures have become even more necessary. What initiatives have you undertaken for a sustainable future?

In this regard, we provide all our waste to ministry-approved recycling companies, ensuring that our waste is disposed of without harming the environment in this process. We also conduct project-based collaborations with various universities regarding the reuse of some of our waste. We have made "Sustainability" an important part of our "Values" policy and, based on this mission, we have adopted the principle of continuity in production. Operating in this direction and having internalized, so to speak, environment-conscious production, Alex Kitchen has written a success story from the local market to the global market while making the concept of sustainability an important part of its corporate policy, thereby setting an example for sector stakeholders.

Were there new decisions you made while managing the pandemic process? What work have you conducted in this regard?

In general, we have adapted all the working conditions recommended by our government to our company.
