Sapro Maintains Its Lead in R&D 500 List

Sapro, one of Turkey's leading wet wipe manufacturers, ranked 387th in the 2024 R&D 500 research compiled by Turkishtime, which lists companies with the highest R&D spending in Turkey. Sapro maintained its position as the company with the highest R&D investment in the wet wipe sector this year.

The company announced that it realized R&D investment of TRY 28 million in 2024, and disclosed that its planned budget for 2025 amounts to TRY 31.3 million.

Reducing Plastic Use and Sustainable Packaging Solutions a Priority
Sapro R&D Director Belgin Sile described the company's innovation strategy as follows:
"As Turkey's leading wet wipe manufacturer, we are redesigning not only our products but also the packaging through which our products reach consumers. In line with our goal to leave a more liveable world for future generations, minimizing plastic use is a critical priority for us. This approach is fully aligned with the European Union's new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). In addition to recyclable and reusable packaging, we are increasing our use of PCR-content film packaging and single-material recyclable packaging. We are also continuing R&D work on biodegradable and compostable packaging materials."

Pioneer in Innovation with Over 50 Million Dollars in Investment
Sile emphasized that Sapro's R&D investments are not limited to product development, sharing the following information:
"In the period we have gone through, we invested over 50 million dollars. With investments such as state-of-the-art wet wipe production lines, cardboard packaging production line, biodegradable and compostable fabric production line, smart warehouse and ultra-pure water treatment systems, we are pioneering developments in our sector."

Sapro, the largest private label wet wipe manufacturer in Turkey and one of the four largest in Europe, has been included in the R&D 500 list since 2013, maintaining its leadership in its sector.
