Huntsman Corporation celebrated the opening of an expansion at its Performance Products manufacturing facility in Petfurdo, Hungary, which commenced operations earlier this year. The successful completion of this investment increases Huntsman's global capacity and enables the company to offer greater flexibility and innovative technology for the polyurethane, coatings, metal processing and electronics industries.
One of the world's leading amine catalyst manufacturers with more than 50 years of experience in urethane chemistry, Huntsman notes that global demand for JEFFCAT® amine catalysts continues to grow. These specialty amines are found in many products used in everyday life, such as automotive seats, mattresses and energy-efficient insulation for buildings. Huntsman's latest product portfolio supports industries' efforts to save energy, reduce emissions and minimize odor formation in consumer products.
Jan Buberl, President of Huntsman Performance Products, stated: "This new capacity, built on our long-term investments in Huntsman Performance Products, strengthens our ability to support our customers in rapidly growing and developing markets. This expansion unit increases our production flexibility, enables the development of next-generation products and reflects our focus on sustainability, operational excellence and long-term value creation. As demand for cleaner and more efficient solutions grows, this investment enables us to respond with speed, innovation and reliability."
The project, realized with investment incentive support from the Hungarian government, reflects confidence in the region's long-term success and a shared commitment to growth.
