Products Inspired by Technology and Nature Will Stand Out in 2020

With the changes in technology and user habits between 2010-19, there were transitions to different approaches in architecture and interior architecture. With the arrival of 2020, we have entered a new 10-year period, and new trends have to come along as lifestyles and needs change.

Generation Y has grown, started business life, began to live in their own home. New architectural styles have emerged to support their lifestyle in offices and residences. The old strict rules began to break slowly. Generation Z became a university student and started to make more individual decisions.

They were looking for comfort in the spaces with different requests from the Y generation. In addition to these, we can observe that the cities are getting bigger every year, but the spaces where we live and work with the comfort of new generations are getting smaller. The use of large venues is changing rapidly.

For this reason, minimalist, simple and functional design ideas that have been going on for a while in 2020, will continue to come to the fore. In addition to the relax and comfortable designs preferred in daily life, products inspired by nature will be used. These products will come across by changing color, texture and form.

In the digital world, of course, technology will always be at the forefront, so architectural and interior design trends will also benefit from technology. In addition to comfort, areas that will create photo frames with the effect of social media will continue to be created.

In both office and residential designs, natural materials will be preferred, ensuring that the open space is spacious and can be used in different functions when desired. In addition to wood, we will find materials such as wicker, rattan and jute in these areas.

Using this type of fibrous materials will add more texture to the space and make the environment more warmly. Wooden surfaces will be painted in different patterns, creating defined spaces.

Velvet upholstery will continue to be used in interior design. The atmosphere of different cultures can be kept alive by using ethnic objects. With the brightness feature of the metal; All variations of metal will be used in lamps, mirror frames, furniture and accessories.

Terrazzo coating will be used in architecture and design, unlike traditional, with larger dimensions, less density and more striking.

The trend color of 2020 will be classic blue. Leatrice Eiseman, Managing Director of Pantone Color Institute, said: “We live in a time that requires trust and faith. This kind of continuity and trust, expressed by Pantone 19-4052 classic blue; a tangible and trusting tone that we can always rely on ”.

In the new designs, we will see flame red, saffron, biscuit green, chives green, pale denim, orange peel, mosaic blue, coral pink, stick cinnamon and daylight colors other than this color. As the biggest supporter of the spaces, art will take its place even more.

Regardless of the interior design style, residential spaces will be individually customized with painting and sculpture.

Trends will be much more flexible in space constructions for the generation Y and Z, which attach importance to nature, comfort, technology and socialization, and now we have a more global user community that does not get stuck in a single space.

They value nature and animals much more and want to live with them. Determining the trends is the effort to tailor these needs in the most accurate way.
