Water Consumption By Up To 80%

Together with Inditex, Pulcra Chemicals created Sustineri Coloring, a novel method for dyeing cotton and cotton-polyester blends that uses up to 80% less water.

Sustineri Coloring, a combined pretreatment and dyeing process for cotton and polyester/cotton that saves time, energy, and water, is created by Pulcra Chemicals and Inditex.

This procedure is the outcome of research conducted jointly by Pulcra Chemicals and Inditex with the aim of reducing the negative environmental effects of conventional dyeing processes and the consumption of natural resources.

Water Consumption By Up To 80%

Sustineri Coloring is based on newly developed process chemicals that enable dark, medium, and light shades of cotton and polyester/cotton fabrics to be pretreated and dyed in one bath using the exhaust method. As a result, less energy and water are used during processing.

Selected mills are already using the process, and it has been demonstrated that Sustineri Coloring can cut processing times for pretreatment and dyeing by up to 60%, as well as water and energy usage by up to 80% and 60%, respectively. Modern products enable a one-bath treatment, which is essential for conserving resources.

“We are incredibly proud to work together with Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers,” says Ümit Yaldiz, CEO of Pulcra Chemicals Group. “This partnership is a significant step toward realizing our ambition of bringing environmentally friendly solutions to the worldwide textile market.”
