Origin and Characteristics

Mechanism of Action
Intracellular Water and Osmolytes
Without intracellular water, cells lose their volume, vitality and ability to survive. Inside cells, the presence of osmolytes slows down intracellular water loss and promotes incoming water flow.
In keratinocytes the two main skin osmolytes are taurine and myo-inositol. They enter our cells thanks to specific membrane transporters: TAUT for taurine and SMIT for myo-inositol. With ageing and the decrease in osmolyte transporters, the structure of the epidermis is altered and becomes thinner. The skin progressively loses its density and plumpness appearance.
Vitasmoothy Reactivates Osmolytes and Their Transporters
Vitasmoothy reactivates the synthesis in osmolytes as well as synthesis of osmolyte transporters such as TAUT for taurine and SMIT for myo-inositol to combat the effects of ageing.
