Barium sulfate is an odorless, white crystalline solid. Used on its own or in tandem with TiO2 and color pigments, it can bring a range of benefits to the formulation of coatings and the production of plastics.
Precipitated Barium Sulphate is a barium sulphate product with its original particle size, synthesized by controlling the chemical reaction between highpurity barium sulphide and sodium sulphate solution (BaS + Na2SO4 → BaSO4↓ + Na2S).
Precipitated barium sulfate is used as a white pigment for paints and coatings (including paper, plastic, and polymer applications) and as an inert filler for adhesives, sealants, plastics, and rubbers.
It also acts as a flux agent in ceramic glazes. Because of its extremely fine particle
size and its high brightness, it is also used in cosmetics, toothpaste, and other personal-care products.
Paints and primers represent the largest us efor filler- grade barite (barium sulphate). High brightness micronized barite is used as an extender to provide the weight that customers equate with quality and because of its low binder demand for high loadings.
Synthetic barium sulfate is used as filler and addtive in all wet paint and powder paint processes. The product is used to as often powder paint, pigments pastes, marine paint, wood paint, anti-corrosive paint and general industry paint.

Blanc Fixe Micro
BLANC FIXE MICRO is a synthetic barium sulphate produced from high-purity solutions in a defined growth process. Blanc Fixe Micro is organically coated.
Typical Properties:
• Resistant to acids and alkalis,
• Insoluble in water and organic solvents,
• An inert product,lightfast and weather resistant,
• Largely free of impurities such as quartz, for example,due to chemical production process,
• Colour-neutral due to its low refractive index,
• High brilliance in coloured systems, • Defined particle-size and geometry, plus extremely narrow particle-size range for high gloss specifications,
• Low specific surface area,
• Extremely readily wettable,
• Low abrasivenes due to low Mohs hardness.

Titanium Dioxide Saving
Use the Blanc Fixe PBS 90 product, approximately 20% savings are achieved from the titanium dioxide or colored pigments in the recipes. Cost advantage is provided without any performance loss in gloss and durability properties, which are the most important in applications.
Considering the performance characteristics, the cost advantage can be increased with more Blanc Fixe PBS 90 & Blanc Fixe Micro grades inputs.
